Drain | 21 February 2008 We were without a bathroom sink for a few days. The drain plugged up unequivocally on Saturday morning; Monday was a provincial holiday (Family Day, new this year); on Tuesday apparently our property management contact was wading in a flooded basement all day; Wednesday finally found the plumber paying us a visit, just when I getting used to brushing my teeth in the kitchen. It was almost bohemian, like living in a weird but awesome and of course dirt cheap apartment in a dingy part of town with high ceilings and tall, grimy windows, with the bathroom consisting of a toilet only, just off the kitchen, where there’s a sink that also works as a bathtub, and a colossal built-in taking up most of what was supposed to be the dining room. A couple of those things are actually true of our apartment, but in no way could we be mistaken for bohemians. Especially since we have a working bathroom sink again. <—– Previous: Maggots | Next: Piccadilly and shell-shock –—>
